ONLINE COSTING AND ORDERING FOR BODY REPAIR SHOPS
A radical new CD Rom-based 'methodology', specifically designed for automotive body repair shops, which clearly identifies and cost-compares both original manufacturer or non-original part numbered car body components, and then instantly provides accurate labour and material costs to repair a damaged vehicle, has been endorsed by replacement body panel specialists LMC Hadrian Limited.
The all-embracing new system, EasiEst, devised by MOTEX Systems Limited, lists more than 9000 body components, covering 2100 vehicle variants, from most 'Euro' car manufacturers popular model ranges. Body repair workshops will be encouraged to install the CD onto any windows compatible computer.
The starting price of the CD is only £125.00 per quarter and if hardware is not available already then Easiest can arrange a suitable package from as little as £500! Which will allow them not only to call-up and identify individual components with their specific part number, but will also provide an up-do-date cost-comparison against OEM or non-original components. Once the list of components has been compiled, the program will then accurately estimate the labour costs to conduct the work, and identify any additional material and paint costs. An instant VAT quotation for the customer or insurance assessor can be made and memorised for when the repair go-ahead is agreed. Recall to the memory will then allow the body repair shop to order all the listed components at the press of a single button, via a direct link to LMC Hadrian's manufacturing headquarters at Westbury, Wiltshire, where
components will be delivered overnight to a 'local' approved distributor for onward delivery to the workshop, all in less than 24 hours.
Bram Horth, Sales and Marketing Director for LMC Hadrian Limited says: "This advanced new system we believe marks a new beginning. With over 12000 body shops across the country, it has been obvious that there have been shortfalls in the estimating and supply chain - especially when wrong part numbers have been specified. It has taken more than eighteen months co-operation between ourselves and Motex EasiEst to compile all the data into an easy, user friendly and understandable format.
Body shops can now enhance their traditional skills by taking full advantage of new era electronic trading, imaging and communication methods. In devising the program it was also important to maintain the integrity of the trade 'modus operandi' to ensure that workshops, motor factors and the component manufacturer retained their trading margins whilst at the same time legitimately satisfying insurance assessors interests for 'best value'.
The new EasiEst system will benefit all parties by eliminating much time consuming and costly administration.
